Error: Failed to load script task

I have an email script that keeps failing to load when I execute my script task. I have the precompileintobinarycode set to true. Anyone know why it won't load the script? I would use the Send Mail task but it can't find my smtp connection or something.

Thanks,

Mike

This error can spontaneously appear for no apparent reason. It seems that if you have the PreCompile property set to True, but you have precompiled script in the package, which is what spontaneously disappears, this error will be raised. To resolve this issue:

a. Open the package

b. Open the Script Task editor

c. Click Design Script

d. Close the VSA Editor

e. Close the Script Task Editor

f. Save and close the package.

didn't work I still get the same error.

Error: Failed to generate a user instance...

Hello,

When trying to add a new SQL database to a VS 2005 project I get this error:

Failed to generate a user instance of SQL server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Any ideas what is causing this error and how to fix it?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

This question has been discussed several times in this forum, you should do a search and read other discussions to see if they address your issue.

The first step in troubleshooting this is to look at the User Instance error log located at C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Data\<main instance name> (The default instance name is SQLEXPRESS) and see if it give any clues to the cause of the error.

I can't recall seeing this before but it sounds like there may be an issue
with AWE. Do you have both /3GB and /PAE enabled or just /PAE in boot.ini ?

I can't recall seeing this before but it sounds like there may be an issue
with AWE. Do you have both /3GB and /PAE enabled or just /PAE in boot.ini ?

Error: 7886, Severity: 20, State: 1.

Hi All

I am seeing this error being logged in my SQL 2005 Ent machine

A read operation on a large object failed while sending data to the client. A common cause for this is if the application is running in READ UNCOMMITTED isolation level. This connection will be terminated.

It seems to be arising out of a read of a text column.

Any info on this will be appreciated. Thanks

K T

You're not running CTP version, right?

http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=233339&SiteID=1|||

No

Its build 9.0.2153

Hi Kts,

Do you use Row versioning in you database?

I waiting for your answer.

Regards,

|||

No !

|||

Hi kts,

What you TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL do you run the code?

Can you post the query here?

Regards,

|||

hi

Like the message says READ UNCOMMITTED . its actually just a select with NO LOCK. The problem is I can only guess which proc it is but not know for sure as I am not able to recreate the problem manually.

|||

Ah, you use 'nolock' hint. There are issues with using such hint. I suggest you take a look at the following KB.

http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/235880

|||

I'm still having the same problem..

My sql query results about 100Mb of information.

What can I do?

I have a couple of DTS job that runs daily. However, for the past three days

Error source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerI think there used to be an issue like this due to something related to
connection pooling, and IIRC the workaround was to disable connection
pooling. Not sure if this is the same issue tho.

Stress test the network with NetMon running. Sorry I can't help on the
Netmon side. The stress test can be as simple as copying a HUGE file from
point A to point B.
I've seen corrupt/mismatched drivers, bad router ports and even crimped
cables cause this.

It means the login does not have permissions to log into the target database, i.e. lituania in your case.

This is also indicated by the error msg: --> Cannot open database "lituania" requested by the login. The login failed.

So, please make sure you grant access privilige to "frontend".

|||Been there / done that. Maybe I'm not granting the access priviledge correctly.

What I do is right-clicking over the lituania database within the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express. Then I go to Properties -> Permissions -> Users or roles: frontend -> Explicit permissions for frontend: (and in the Grant column I grant actually everything) -> OK

Still the same problem.

Please help.|||Hi,

navigate through Security > Logins > Properties > User Mapping > Choose the Database > Map the user to the database (you will see that he will get the public role by default)

You should check the database permissions catalog for database 'lituania', to verify that the user 'frontend' is actually granted access permissions to the database.

Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 16.

I am getting the error

Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 16.
Login failed for user 'PRI\sqlservice'. [CLIENT: 172.16.9.2]

in the log repeated every 15 seconds or so. I am logged into the server as pri\sqlservice, I have started the sql server and sql server agent with pri\sqlservice and I can access databases and tables inside the Server Management studio. I have set up the login pri\sqlservice and given it dbo owner access to all databases.

I am in the process of upgrading from 2000 to 2005. I have installed a new sql server 2005, restored backups of databases from 2000. I have also converted all packages and uploaded those to the new server (although they all point to the 2000 server). I have imported the jobs, but all but one are disabled and the one that is enabled ran okay when I ran it manually.

I have researched and researched this issue, and none seem to apply to my specific issue.

This is an extract of my errorlog:

|||Hi,

1.) Mention the servername in FQDN format or use ip address. This may be due to Named pipes
2.) Try changing the protocols, its better to use TCP/IP port. Try connect using servername,portnumber

Error with SP1 upgrade for reporting services

Hi,

I just tried to install SP1 for SQL 2005. All of the steps succeeded except for the upgrade for Reporting Services, which failed with the error "Unable to install Windows Installer MSP file". When I checked the log there were a whole host of errors such as

"12/19/2006 09:06:41.031 Failed to read associated hotfix build information for the following file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Bin\ja\reportingserviceswebuserinterface.resources.dll"

and

"12/19/2006 09:06:41.203 Failed to read version information for the following file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\es\help\f1_rsc_webui_standalone_5yr5.htm"

and

"12/19/2006 09:06:47.093 Failed to read registry key: Debug"

I am running a default instance, and was running the install under an account with local admin privileges.

The errors you mentioned are verbose logging messages that show up in almost all logs. Can you search that msp file for the test string "value 3" and post the 10-15 lines before that? That should give us a more descriptive error message.

Thanks,
Sam Lester (MSFT)

Hi
Looks like something else is listening on port 1433 by the time you are
trying to start the service.
Before you start MSDE, run "NETSTAT -a"to see what is listening on 1433.

Error while registering a new sql server

TITLE: New Server Registration

Testing the registered server failed. Verify the server name, login credentials, and database, and then click Test again.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)

When I try to regiter a sql server, I take this error message. I am using Sql Server 2005. What is the problem,can you help me?

You have to enable remote connections:

Hi,

if you are using SQL Server 2005 (not Express) as you told below, you can simply go to the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration in the programs menu and execute the program entry.

Start --> Programs --> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 --> Configuration Tools --> Surface Area Configuration

Error while deploying CLR Assembly.

Hi,
I am using Whidbey and Yukon. I am creating a CLR SP in whidbey and trying
to deploy. I am getting the following error,
Error: Failed to initialize the .NET Framework: 0x80004005(Unspecified
error). You need to restart server to access .NET Framework functionality.
Any one any ideas as whatz going wrong?
Sameer D.As both are in beta, there are dozens of reasons you could be having problem
s.
1. The builds of Yukon and Whidbey are incompatible
2. The version of the .NET Framework installed is incompatible with Yukon
3. You have a bad install (possible with beta builds, more possible with CTP
builds)
Without understanding more about what you have installed, I can only venture
a wild guess about the reason it is blowing up.

I have a VPC with Whidbey and have installed Yukon on host machine. There is
no way that there may be any compatibility issue, as I was able to build and
deploy the CLR Stored Procs from Whidbey. I tried restarting the host and ma
y
that has caused problem. I tried restarting the Yukon, tried installing
framework 2.0, tried to execute CLR SPs in yukon no luck. However the simple
select statements (T-SQL) execute without any probs. If you have any ideas
suggestions are wel come.

You have to specify an alias for the columns in the select statement. Change the query to somthing like this:

Code Snippet

SELECT ident_current('orders') AS 'ID'

I hope this answers your question.

Best regards,

Sami Samir

|||Thats easy:
