Error: Email Subscription to Report (Sharepoint Integrated Mode) Options

I encounter this error when user try to subscribe using email delivery
to one of the report. I have configured the Reporting Services to use
Sharepoint integrated mode. This user is a regular user that has read
access to the report item.

Below is the message detail:

A subscription delivery error has occurred. (rsDeliveryError)
A subscription delivery error has occurred. (rsDeliveryError)
One of the extension parameters is not valid for the following reason:
The account you are using does not have administrator privileges. A
subscription cannot be created for [emailaddress].
(rsInvalidExtensionParameter)

Is it true that user needs to have administrator privilege in order to
subscribe for report? I don't think so, right?

Gunady Ng

Hi Gunady,

Non-admin users can only send a report to an email address that is specified in the SharePoint user profile for that user. Can you check the "TO" field and ensure that the email address is that of the user as seen in the SharePoint user profile?

Thanks,

Sharmila

Thank you for the answer. Is this restriction apply to cc or bcc as well?

Yes, it applies to all.

Thanks,
Sharmila

|||

is there a way around this?

Is there a way to setup on per-report basis?

I'm using reporting services within sharepoint as a content delivery solution, I need teh users to be able ost chedule reports and have them delivered by email to thair sharpoint drop box and/or to their customers staright from teh subscripton interface

I'm able to do this as admin but I need teh users to be able to do the same

I tried looking in the rsreportsever.config but can not figure out how to do this, I set <sendemailtouseralias>False but still nothing,

I also dont have the otion for CC: or BCC: when I'm loged in with nonadministrative account.

There must be an option for this but I'm not finding it in any documentation

I'm running Reporting Services SP2 in WSS3 integrated mode

Please advice and help...

Thanks

error: 18452; very urgent

We have 2 failover servers and one client in our test environment. We
have all the three configured in mixed mode authentication(windows +
sql server authentication). But when we are failing over from 1st
server to 2nd one, we are getting the following error message,
'Unable to connected to server xxxx: Server : Msg 18452, Level 16,
State 1 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for
user 'null'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL server
connection.'
I got some clue.
For instance we have ser1 and ser2 as clusters. I registered both in
the client's EM. Now what I did was, I made ser1 to run and stopped sql
service in ser2 (active/passive) through failover. Now in the client's
EM I'm able to open ser1 and I cannot access ser2. Now what I did was,
I failed over to ser2 ( so sql service in ser1 is stopped). But now I
can still be able to access ser1 and also I can access ser2, even I'm
able to open query analyzer in ser1 through EM.But when I try to open
query analyzer directly, it is giving the same error message. ser1 is
the virtual name given to both ser1 and ser2. So I think when
connecting through EM, failover is occuring fine.I'm just wondering why
is this happening only with dsn. Can anybody help me?

Error with linked server

I have a "linked server" configured in my SQL Server 2000 (SP4) server, which used to work correctly. However, I had to reinstall SQL Server (I backed up and restored the master/model/etc databases, so all my settings stayed the same). Since then, I've been getting this error when I try to use the linked server:
Invalid schema or catalog specified for provider 'MSDASQL'.
OLE DB error trace [Non-interface error: Invalid schema or catalog specified for the provider.].

The linked server is a FoxPro database, which does not use catalog or schema names. So, my select syntax looks like this:
SELECT * FROM Server...Table

SQL Server is aparently expecting something like this:
SELECT * FROM Server.Catalog.Schema.Table

Does anyone know how I can fix it so that it allows the "empty dot" method to work like it used to?'

Thanks!
JoshTry creating a new linkedserver to FP and see if it works. Also, try to update to the latest Mdac to get the latest providers.|||Yeah, I already tried to create a new linked server, and it didn't work. I checked my MDAC version, and it's the newest one (2.8 SP1).|||what foxpro driver are you using? a long time ago in a galaxy far away I had a world of trouble with fox pro linked servers until I upgraded from the 7 driver to the 8 driver.

I would drop the linked server.

install the current VFP driver. maybe reinstall MDAC.

recreate said linked server.

test the connection with OPENQUERY (but do not use it in production, pushes the processing to foxpro).

test using your empty dot method.

so glad I do not have to use fox pro anymore.|||It looks like I'm running version 6... I'll try upgrading it, thanks.

Oh yeah, I've already tried the OPENQUERY method, and it works. I could just change all of my code to use that, but that would be a lot of work.|||OPENQUERY is a pig. It will process the query in foxpro instead of sql server.|||what version of VFP are using. Be careful. Try this out in a test envrionment first because you may not be able to go back.|||Ok, so I wouldn't want to use it, even if it was easy to use. :)|||I actually don't know what version it is. We have a third-party application written in FoxPro that we pull data from to display on an intranet site. My FoxPro experience is limited to using that app, and linking SQL Server to it.

So, thanks for the warning. I'll have to do more research...|||Ok, I got it. It turns out that there is a checkbox in the linked server's Provider Options window called "Level zero only". If that is not checked, the empty-dot notation doesn't work. I checked it, and it works now.

I'm not sure why it broke, unless that option is a recent addition to the provider options - maybe someone installed some update around the same time we reinstalled SQL Server...

Anyway, thanks for the help!
Josh

Error while invoking AcquireConnections(null)

Hi, I have a windows service which is configured to login under the "local System Account". and the windows service is actually creating a SSIS package and running it. however, it was running good with out any problem. but we had to uninstall and again reinstall the windows service and after that it is generating an error "Exception from HRESULT: 0xC020801C" when ever it is invoking the

Instance.AcquireConnections(null);

The connection string that is given for the connection manager is as follows

Data Source=ORION\OFFICESERVERS;Initial Catalog=CDBDBase;Integrated Security=SSPI;User Id=;Password=;Provider=SQLNCLI.1;Auto translate=false"

What is the wrong here-can any body kindly suggest? I have tried with the following too

Data Source=ORION\OFFICESERVERS;Initial Catalog=CDBDBase;Integrated Security=SSPI;Provider=SQLNCLI.1;Auto translate=false"

Does SSIS need to have a connection string with SSPI always? is there any way to use a sql authenlication for this purpose? like using sql user name and password in connection string? Please suggest me. I need it badly.

You can use SQL authentication in SSIS. Remove "Integrated Security = SSPI;", and replace it with "Uid=myUsername;Pwd=myPassword;"

Try this link for help with connection strings: http://www.connectionstrings.com/

|||Do you think I need to use the "provider=SQLNCLI.1 ; auto translate = false" when I will use the SQL authentications? I meant if I use the user id and password instead of "ntegrated Security = SSPI" should I remove the provider and auto translate attributes or I need to keep them?|||You'll need to keep them. The provider determines which OLEDB driver you are using - if you omit it, the connect string won't be valid. Auto translate is optional, but I'd leave it in there.|||

Thanks much!
