error: Attempt to fetch logical page
During an upgrade from sql server 6.5 to sql server 2000 I receive the
follwoing error and the upgrade process remains stuck until terminated
manually:
ODBC error 605 (HY000) Attempt to fetch logical page 1430280 in database
'nice_cls' belongs to object 'NICE_CLS_CALLS_0008', not to object
'NICE_CLS_CALLS_0007'.
I tried using dbcc checkdb and received the same error.
Is there any idea how to address this situation or how to delete the
specific page?
Thanks,
YanivHi Yaniv,
This error occurs when Microsoft SQL Server detects database corruption.
The second object specified in the text not to object '%.*ls' is probably
corrupt. Because this error can mask the existence of other errors, execute
DBCC CHECKDB to determine the extent of the damage.
I am assuming that the corruption is happening on your SQL Server 6.5
server. The best way to recover from corruption is to restore from your
good backup.
I hope this helps !!!
Thanks,
Fargham

Error with SP1 upgrade for reporting services
Hi,
I just tried to install SP1 for SQL 2005. All of the steps succeeded except for the upgrade for Reporting Services, which failed with the error "Unable to install Windows Installer MSP file". When I checked the log there were a whole host of errors such as
"12/19/2006 09:06:41.031 Failed to read associated hotfix build information for the following file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Bin\ja\reportingserviceswebuserinterface.resources.dll"
and
"12/19/2006 09:06:41.203 Failed to read version information for the following file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\es\help\f1_rsc_webui_standalone_5yr5.htm"
and
"12/19/2006 09:06:47.093 Failed to read registry key: Debug"
I am running a default instance, and was running the install under an account with local admin privileges.
The errors you mentioned are verbose logging messages that show up in almost all logs. Can you search that msp file for the test string "value 3" and post the 10-15 lines before that? That should give us a more descriptive error message.
Thanks,
Sam Lester (MSFT)

Error while upgrading SQL2005 Standard To SQL 2005 Enterprise
I just recently tried to upgrade a two node SQL2005 Standard to SQL2005
Enterprise. I received the following error message during the upgrade of
the database components.
Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Error 29550. The
setup has encountered an error while Upgrading Components.
The error: -2147019873
Error message: The group or resource is not in the correct
state to perform the requested operation.
My customers ASPState Database is in simple recovery mode. I was not
sure if this is what could have caused this error. Also will i have to
start with a fresh install of SQL 2005 to resolve this issue?
Thanks for the help.I doubt that is it. Are any of the files, filegroups or dbs read only or in
other than OnLine mode? Do any of the dbs have a computability level of
less than 80?
