Error: Changed language to ...

When I try to open some tables in a database using QueryAnalyzer I receive
the following error:
"[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Changed language to
bulgarian".
And in result the table is not opened.
Bulgarian is my native language by the way.
I made the following experiment :
I created a new table with the same definition as one of the problem tables.
Then I inserted all records from the problem table in the new one. Then I
had no problems opening the new table using QueryAnalyzer.
Do you have any idea what the problem is?
Thank you! What language is SQL Server set to? And was it the same as to when you
created the table the first time?

Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Timeout Expired

I am getting above error msg when I tried to run my View.
The view have 12 tables and 20 joins, which tells you the complaxcity of
the view. When run this view using Query Analyzer it gave me the above
msg as well and then i update timeout property within QA. After
updating the timeout property, the view run fine. I need the same
changes in Enterprise Manager and update timeout property for the server
but it still not working.
Help!
Many Thanks

Do you have appropriate indexes on the tables involved, especially on the
columns used for the joins?

Error: [DBNETLIB]ConnectionCheckForData

I have gotten an error, which appears to be a query optimizer bug:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionCheckForData
(CheckforData()).
Server: Msg 11, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
General network error. Check your network documentation.
Connection Broken
I admit that the query is a bit complex -- it joins three tables and uses a
view -- but it is perfect okay. If I make minor, irrelevant, changes to the
syntax it works. For example, the failing query contains WHERE TBL_D.sold_to
= 60414; if I change this to WHERE TBL_D.sold_to BETWEEN 60414 and 60414 then
the query works. It returns in a few seconds with 5 rows. Also, if I change
the query to say INNER LOOP JOIN instead of INNER JOIN then it will work
correctly.
Running dbcc checktable on the tables shows no error.
The query is generated by a Report Generator, so I cannot just make manual
changes to it; the only thing I can do is to find out the underlying cause. I
am running SQL Server 2000 version 8.00.760 (Intel X86) (Build 2195: Service
Pack 4).
Has anyone seen this kind of error, or aware of any patch that will fix it?Tycus,
This sounds like a problem in your networking hardware or configuration
somewhere. Look at your network interface settings - especially duplex
settings. Sometimes setting the NICs to Auto duples causes these errors
(sometimes they don't).
Is there anything further in the SQL Server error log? Stack dumps? Once
you've checked your networking components, and you still get the error, raise
a call with Microsoft Product Support.

Error with an Insert stored procedure

I am getting this error when executing an insert procedure
Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E57)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]String or binary data would
be truncated. The length of the string you are trying to insert is larger than the maximum
length of the column you are trying to insert into. Either the datatypes of
the parameters that the stored procedure accepts do not map to the datatypes
of the columns of the table you are trying to insert into, or the procedure
uses INSERT INTO without a column list and you are trying to insert the
wrong data in the wrong column.

set ansi_warnings off
GO
before the instert statement.!|||1) You can't use GO in a stored procedure
2) Do you really want to make information disappear? What if someone types
in a description to store in your database and the last sentence is cut off
because it is too long and you have set ansi_warnings off? Don't you think
the users will prefer to be given a warning that the description is too long
so that they can reword it in less words?

Error with a fieldname that does not exist anymore.

I get an :
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver}[SQL Server]Invalid column name
'oldfieldname_eid'
While inserting in the Enterprise Manager. The 'oldfieldname_eid' does not
exist in any table of the target database. The error only occurs if an
insert trigger is defined. The insert trigger does not contain a string
resembling the 'oldfieldname_eid'. The name has been used in the past for a
field.
The error does reproduce, after a reset of the client, after setting the
database offline and online again.
The error does disappear when the trigger is 'removed' but reappears
again when the trigger is recreated. The error does not appear when
a 'dummy' trigger is used, only containing "print 'hello'"
Does anybody have a suggestion ?
ben brugmanIt would have been quite helpful if you had posted the text of the trigger,
because that seems to be where the problem is, now we have to make a guess.
One thing I can think of is if you have a view on the table that contained
the 'oldfieldname_eid' column, and that view contains SELECT *. The
definition of a view is not updated automatically when the underlying table
changes, so the column might still exist in the view definition.
Try SELECT table_name FROM information_schema.columns
WHERE column_name = 'oldfieldname_eid'
to find a view or table that includes a column with that name.

The field 'oldfieldname_eid' does not appear in any View/table or trigger.
It does not appear anywhere anymore in the complete database.
There does not exist a field 'oldfieldname_eid'.
If we change the fieldname into 'AAAAAA' we get the following error
that the field 'newfieldname_eid' does not exist

For the trigger see the end of the message.
Adding a new column to the table with 'newfieldname_eid' next to 'AAAAAA'
and
then deleting the 'AAAAAA' field did solve the problem. We expect that the
count
of columns did have a mismatch in the internal meta data and that this was
solved
by adding and deletion of columns. (But this is a guess).
(The table appears to be exactly as when the error occured but the error is
'gone').
(probably a bug).
We still would like to know what happened !
ben brugman
The trigger.
The trigger :
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
CREATE TRIGGER [TR_I_Tabel2] ON dbo.Tabel1
FOR INSERT
NOT FOR REPLICATION
AS
INSERT INTO
Tabel2 (Field1, Field2, Field3, Field4, Field5, Field6)
SELECT
Field1, Field2, Field3, current_Field4, current_Field5, current_Field6
FROM inserted
UPDATE
Tabel1
SET
Field7 =NULL
FROM
Tabel1
INNER JOIN
inserted
ON
Tabel1.Field3 = inserted.Field3
INNER JOIN
Table3
ON
Table3.Field4 = inserted.current_Field4
WHERE
Table3.status_nbr >= 50
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
